2022 ആഗസ്ത് വരെ, എംഎസ്എംഇകൾക്ക് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ മൊത്തം കയറ്റുമതിയിൽ 42.67 ശതമാനം വിഹിതമുണ്ടെന്ന് എംഎസ്എംഇ വകുപ്പ് സഹമന്ത്രി ഭാനു പ്രതാപ് സിംഗ് വർമ രാജ്യസഭയിൽ രേഖാമൂലം നൽകിയ മറുപടിയിൽ പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. 2022 ഏപ്രിൽ-ഓഗസ്റ്റ് കാലയളവിൽ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ മൊത്തത്തിലുള്ള കയറ്റുമതി (ചരക്കുകളും സേവനങ്ങളും ചേർന്ന്) 311.82 ബില്യൺ ഡോളറായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. കഴിഞ്ഞ വർഷം ഇതേ കാലയളവിനെ അപേക്ഷിച്ച് 19.72 ശതമാനം വർധന കയറ്റുമതിയിൽ ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ട്. നടപ്പു സാമ്പത്തിക വർഷം ജനുവരി വരെ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ മൊത്തം കയറ്റുമതി 641 ബില്യൺ ഡോളറാണ്.
